The Salvation Army Christmas kettle is a fundraising effort that occurs each year during the Christmas season. It is an opportunity for the public to support the programs and services of The Salvation Army in Portage la Prairie at Christmas time and throughout the year.

Make a difference in these areas

We offer a variety of roles to match your interests and availability.
Food bank

Help support our weekly food distribution efforts. We need approximately 14 volunteers each week to assist with pickup, intake, sorting, and packing hampers.

Collective kitchens
Looking for facilitators with a love for cooking! Work with a small group to plan and prepare 4 meals per family each month.
Time commitment: 2 days/month – one planning day and one cooking day.
Christmas hampers
Support our seasonal program by helping sort and pack food, or assist with food/toy pick-ups during the holiday season.
Family night
Launching this summer! Help make our Family Night events a success by volunteering in areas such as setup, teardown, worship team, audio/visual, and more.
